Sample preparation To 1 g of the powdered herbal drug add 20 mL of methanol. Heat in a water-bath at 60°C for 15 min. Allow to cool and filter. Evaporate to dryness under reduced pressure and dissolve the residue in 2 mL of methanol
Mobile phase Acetone, toluene 15:85 (v/v)
Derivatization Spray with a 5 g/L solution of vanillin in a mixture of 20 volumes of anhydrous ethanol and 80 volumes of sulfuric acid. Examine in daylight after 5 min
Sample preparation 100 mg/mL of Powdered Feverfew in methanol, sonicated for 10 min, and centrifuged. Use the clear supernatant
Mobile phase Cyclohexane, ethyl acetate 1:1 (v/v)
Derivatization Spray with anisaldehyde solution and heat at 100°C for 3 min
