Dr. P. D. Sethi Memorial National Award for the best HPTLC publication from India
Anchrom, the provider of HPTLC equipment and solutions in India and sponsor of the India Chapter of the HPTLC Association, announced last week the winners of the prestigious Dr. P. D. Sethi Memorial National Award for the best HPTLC publication from India in the year 2021.
The Award was started in the year 2006 in memory of Late Dr. P. D. Sethi, an eminent chromatographer in the field of High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography.
Dr. P. D. Sethi received his Ph.D. from Madras University in Pharmacognosy. He worked towards betterment and advancement of pharmaceutical analysis in India for more than 40 years. In his life he had served at many prestigious institutes like Banaras Hindu University, Central Indian Pharmacopoeia Laboratory (Ghaziabad), and Central Drug Testing Laboratory (Mumbai). He was the founder director of Central Drugs Laboratory, worked with the Federal Drug Control Laboratory and as a National evaluator with Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. He has published many books on pharmaceutical analysis on HPLC and HPTLC.
The criteria for this award are:
1) The publication focuses on TLC/HPTLC as one of the techniques in the research.
2) The research war carried out by a person of Indian nationality.
3) The submitted research was carried out in a laboratory in India.
4) The work was published in the calendar year 2021 in a domestic/international journal
5) In case the publication is supported by certain government departments, the author may apply on the basis of presenting the work in internal seminars.
Last year more than 130 papers entered the contest. Ten winners were selected, eight from government labs / educational institutes and two from private industries. The papers were reviewed by a highly qualified, experienced and accomplished committee in an unbiased way.
Starting in 2021, Anchrom is organizing an award ceremony at grand level to honour the winners of the Dr. P. D. Sethi Award.
